New Year's Day 2026 Beers #3 of 3. Full-bodied, although on the crisper tasting side of this, nevertheless its strength transfers into a deeper texture rather than directly into taste. In terms of this its heavy pine aroma is lesser stated in taste, but evident enough.

New Year's Day 2026 Beers #2 of 3. An initial boozy blast relents to allow a quite a lot of stone fruit flavour through as it lingers long, there's still an impact with its strength though, and has a slower sipping texture.

New Year's Day 2026 Beers #1 of 3. First one of the new year, and an easy, very fruity session to ease myself into the January collection. It's hazy, supporting a frothy head after its pouring from the can. It has a citrus base, not sweet, not particularly high in citric bitterness but very flavoursome nevertheless. Passionfruit is evident in aroma.

Central venue a block back from the main road, but easily seen as there's only a car park separating it from the aforementioned. A two room venue with an entrance via the front conservatory style extension, the bar is in the same section where the original building takes over. A doorless entrance next to this leads to a cosier room directly behind the service area. There's a focus on local beers with two rotating cask and five keg ales, four of which were from Three Fiends just down the road, the other from Craven. One outdoor table exists on its front terrace.

In an interesting end building next to the main road in the town centre of Meltham, it's a large open room inside with the bar against the side wall. It's quite a large service area with a fridge of their beers opposite, close to the entrance, and no shortage of their own brews on cask and keg with a few guest beers available too. The bar then melts into the kitchen which is completely visible. There's no shortage of seating either with the rest of the space full of tables and chairs. There's quite a community feel about the venue too.

Sheffield CAMRA Beer Festival 2025, Beer#20. Hazy.amber and very drinkable for its strength. Somewhat stewed fruity, there are tropical notes beyond these that elevate the brew. It's a strong specialist brew though so don't expect to make it a session.

Sheffield CAMRA Beer Festival 2025, Beer#19. Black-brown mild in colour, but it's a bonafide mild in style. Very light roasted, light sweetness, smooth in texture.

Olut has a new beer style achievement

Level 1 for Amber / Red Ale - Imperial ticks with a total of 5 ticks of this sub style.
Red Angus - Barrel Aged from Bradfield Brewery was the one that did it!

Sheffield CAMRA Beer Festival 2025, Beer#18. Got told off by security for my taking of the picture for this beer on safety grounds. Nevertheless I enjoyed the sweet boozy effort, which is dark amber-brown in colour. Nothing exemplary though.

Sheffield CAMRA Beer Festival 2025, Beer#17. Extremely smoked beer, very good in a one-time order, certainly couldn't do too much, especially as this was only a sample and decided not to go with it. Pretty decent though.
