Jim Broadbent won his only Academy Award for the film 'Iris'. This 'Iris' beer won't win awards but as a hazy IPA it has good depth and tropical notes notable within a fair strength brew. It's a good portfolio beer in this respect. Paler golden coloured with hints of pine.

First time drinking on the Leeds Station Wetherspoon outdoor terrace with this dark reddish-brown cask pull. Dark malty in the main with a hint a spice and liquorice evident too.

Looks like a sunburnt Bagpuss in colour being a reddish-pink coloured cloudy lemonade. The lemon is evident, a bit sugared with hints of grapefruit. All quite easy,, but easy over appealing in this case.

I once interviewed the Chairman of QPR at Loftus Road. This 'Loftus' has less to say, dirty-hoppy tasting, similar aroma, it's gritty-tasting for it, a somewhat abject west coast styled brew, not undrinkable though, just extreme in its ingredients in an unfavourable way.

A few minutes walk north of the train station with level-crossing immediately outside it, you can actually see the lights for the barriers from the terrace of this shop unit conversion drinking venue, so it's possible to enjoy the plentiful amount of seats in a defined terrace area and keep an eye out for your train as there's enough time to make it to the platform once the red-lights start flashing to the stop the traffic. If you are inside there's a fair amount of seating in front of and opposite the bar against the outer left-hand wall as this is not a small unit by micropub standards. The selection in this modern venue is a little staid, with four real ale pumps and probably a couple of keg options, all pretty much local with Roosters and particularly Daleside represented well here and in the fridge. A few Belgium bottle are also chilled alongside the Yorkshire options, but nothing extensive. It's a nice place though if passing through Starbeck.

A pleasant ten minute suburban walk east of the train station, it's in a architecturally thoughtful building on a main road, with its front quite close to the road so no outdoor seating either side of its central entrance. Once inside a horseshoe central bar offers up keg and cask all around it, so you may need to walk around it, and bar stools are popular so peering around bodies to see its worthy craft and real ale might have to happen. Seats with tables are mainly around the extremities of the front room, but a few struggling for any natural light exist behind the bar areas. Traditional, local, it has a good vibe.

There's nothing criminal about this smooth, hazy brew, which is a creamy-fruity cask brew of the tropical sort. Nice mouthfeel.

The first time I walked down Hoxton Street I didn't walk over cars Richard Ashcroft style. Blurred lines between wheat and lager for me here, but it's quite good nevertheless. Mild citrus in an easy drinking texture, with blasts of a wheat ale styling sporadically. Pale clear golden coloured keg pour

An afternoon foursome in Harrogate starting with the darkest of an all goldenesque selection. It doesn't have too much bite considering its name, but it's a workable pale ale, easy, mild grittiness, and hints of bubble-gum fruit. Slightly hazy.

I chased the sun today knowing it was up in Harrogate, but cloudy at home. This latest summer session found in Harrogate is a clear golden brew, easy, likeable, mostly hoppy, does the right job. Hints of tropical fruit here. Slightly dirty hoppy in design.
