I lived on the other side of the Rochdale canal to the old Phoenix Works during my time in MCR. Hazy golden Full pine aroma and taste, on the sweeter side of things, but a developing citric bitterness in aftertaste.

A walkable, but very good walk north out of the centre, so it might take a bit out of anyone's day trip itinerary, but you'll be rewarded by beers you can't get anywhere else in the city, albeit in a macro big business setting. This is the second of the chain I've visited. It's on a retail park set well back from the main road and is well kept and looks smart. There's a front terrace and lots of people come here for food, or like me just to try one of their regular or special beers.

Sights & Swills Summer Holiday Beer#72. RENNES. Second beer of a day out in the French city. Hazy yellow-blonde, full-bodied and full of tropical notes in both aroma and taste, and is on the sweet side. Has a bit of citrus bitterness in aftertaste.
