(Draft at Muted Horn, Berlin, 18 July 2025) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, grapefruit, resin, herbs, tropical fruit and a touch of bread. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, peaches, pineapple, herbs, white bread and a mild citric/grassy bitterness. More than medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Fresh, hoppy and tasty. Great balance. Very nice.

(Can) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty nose with notes of white bread, honey and orange. Malty taste with crisp-bread, orange, honey, hay and a mild grassy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Distinct macro character, but fairly clean and crisp. Quite enjoyable.

(Bottle) Golden amber colour with foamy, white head. Fruity, funky nose with citrus, pink grapefruit, apricots, barnyard and a touch of vinegar. Fruity, tart taste with notes of citrus, apricots, grapefruit, orange peel, funky yeast, wood, rye bread, barnyard and vinegar. No bitterness. Medium body, dry. Rich, tart and quite complex. Very nice.

Fruity, herbal taste with notes of citrus, hay, bread, flowers, oak wood, juniper berries and a mild spicy bitternes. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Interesting, and quite well balanced, with a gentle wood character. Very nice.

(Visited July 2025) Craft beer bar and taproom for Protokoll Brewery, located in Friedrichshain, not far from Frankfurter Tor or Samariterstrasse U-bahn. Quite a lively area with many bars and restaurants. A main seating area by the bar, and a smaller to the left. Seating outside as well. Interior in brick and light wood. 24 taps, a handful or so from Protokoll, the rest a good mixture of craft (and a few decent macros) beers from different brewers and countries. Swift and friendly service. Cash payments only on my visit. Friendly and laid back atmosphere with a good mix of locals, beer geeks and early clubbers. A top four spot in Berlin. Must visit.

(Can) Golden yellow colour, slightly hazy, with frothy white head. Hoppy, malty nose with notes of pineapple, crisp-bread, citrus and a touch of rosemary. Malty, hoppy taste with bread, pineapple, grapefruit, rosemary and a balanced citric/herbal bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Hoppy and refreshing. Nice one.

(Can) Dark reddish brown colour, almost black, with big frothy beige head, leaving taces of lacing. Malty, toasty nose with chocolate, dark bread, dried fruit, dates and orange. Malty, hoppy taste with notes of chocolate, dark bread, dates, dried fruit, orange and a mild citric/piney bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Possibly not as hoppy as expected, but tasty and well balanced. Nice one.
