(Cask at The Pocket, Islington, London, 16 July 2026) Golden colour with foamy, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, tropical fruit and pineapple. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, peaches, pineapple, tropcial fruit, crackers and a balanced citric/herbal bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Highly drinkable. Hoppy and refreshing. Nice one.

(Visited July 2026) Nice and friendly old school pub, a short walk from Kentish Town tube station. Bar in front of you upon entering, several smaller drinking areas at the front, to the sides and at the back. Restaurant area behind the bar. Five cask ales of good quality, up to ten keg taps (not of much beer geek interest though). Swift and friendly service. Really good thai food. Can get crowded. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

(Can) Hazy golden colour with frothy off-white head. Hoppy, fruity nose with notes of grapefruit, pineapple, passionfruit, apricots, crisp-bread, stone fruit and some kind of hard candy lurking around. Hoppy, fruity taste with grapefruit peel, pineapple, passionfruit, crisp-bread, apricot marmalade, nectarine and a generous citric/herbal bitterness in the finish. Some alcohol shining through. And that hard candy. Almost full body, quite sweet. A bit boozy, but rich and hoppy. Very nice.

(Bottle) Copper colour with brief, foamy head. Fruity, slightly spicy nose with candy sugar, bread, apricots, hay, treacle-toffee and orange peel. Fruity, sweetish, slightly tart taste with notes of red apples, pineapple, citrus, candy sugar, bread, apricots, hay and orange peel. Sweetish finish, with a mild acidity. A mild barnyard touch in the background. Low bitterness. More than medium body, sweet. Complex and quite refreshing. Nice one.

Malty, fruity taste with caramel, syrup, dried fruit, apricots and a mild herbal/citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Strongish, still in good balance. Nice one.

(Cask at Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak, London, 16 July 2026) Dark brown colour, almost black, with brief beige head. Malty, roasty nose with chocolate, sweet black coffee and cacao. Malty, roasty taste with notes of chocolate truffles, sweet black coffee, cookies, caramel, spices (cinnamon, ginger) and a mild cacao bitterness. Medium body, quite sweet. Rich, smooth and well balanced. Very nice.

Malty, spicy taste with white bread, ripe strawberries, clove and banana. Hardly any bitterness. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Refreshing and well balanced. Works better than it sounds. Quite nice.
