(Draft at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 6 Aug 2026) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasty nose with notes of cacao, cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate and coffee. Malty, roasty taste with dark chocolate, cacao, cinnamon, vanilla and a balanced cacao bitterness in a finish with a mild chilli heat. Full body, quite sweet. Rich, complex, warming and quite well balanced. Very nice.

Malty, hoppy taste with notes of toast, orange peel, pine needles, citrus and a balanced citric/piney bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Tasty and well balanced. Nice one.

(Bottle) Amber colour with frothy, tan head. Malty nose with notes of caramel, bread, dried fruit, orange marmalade, honey and spices. Malty taste with crisp-bread, caramel, dried fruit, orange marmalade and a mild spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Smooth and well balanced bitter. Quite nice.

(Can) Cloudy golden yellow colour with frothy, white head. Hoppy nose with pineapple, grapefruit, pine needles, white bread, honey and hints of peppercorns. Hoppy, fruity taste with notes of pine needles, pineapple, grapefruit, lemon peel, sponge cake, orange, mango and a mild piney/peppery bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, quite sweet. Hoppy, juicy and tasty. Very nice.

Malty, roasty taste with chocolate, coffee, liquorice, caramel, dark bread and a balanced roasty bitterness in a fairly boozy and warming finish. Full body, quite sweet. Rich, intense and strong. Great beer!

(Visited Aug 2026) Old school beer bar a couple of minutes walk southwest of the Grote Markt. The bar is on the left hand side upon entering, seating area further back. Interior is a mix of new and old. Nine taps with dutch craft beers. Good bottle selection. Swift and friendly service. Laid back atmosphere. Looks like they have live music at times. Nice and friendly place, and not really a detour.

Fruity, spicy taste with citrus, peaches, herbs, thyme, bread and a balanced herbal bitterness. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Well balanced tripel, with a good herbal touch. Very nice.
