Hanoi Profile - Brewver (Dev)

Can from the Asdas. Nose is earthy, coconut, wafer, chocolate, hint of catering chocolate. Taste is ash, coconut, woody, slight sour note, leading to a sweet milk chocolate finish.

The heavy opening ash notes, stop it being to cloying. But it's not very nice.

Intimidatingly old bottle. No ABV marked on it. Nose is actually really good. Raisins, malty, slightly vinious, very malty. Taste is pure vinegar, cupboard, battery acid and death. Mother of mercy. Unspeakably bad.

I am going to brush my teeth.

I assume it's got oxygen in or has not been kept well, it's only been in my possession since 2022.

I've given it a neuteral score as it's not possible to assess fairly.

Can. Nose is soy, treacle, leading to chocolate and caramel. Taste is sweet, caramel, chocolate, spice, almond, a very sweet bourbon note in the shortish finsh.

2025 Bottle. As in 2024 this edition is on French Oak.

Nose is toffee, apples, hint of caramel, pear drops, earthy note. Taste leads sweet, then a hit of a tart vinous, sherry note, leading to caramel, nuts, bread, prunes, stewed fruit pear drops, spice, woody barrel, in a drier than expected and spicy finish.

Lovely.

Both amazed this isn't reviewed, and startled about how long it must be since I had one of these venerable classics. Nose is pine, light floral, with a base sweet fruitiness; very balanced. Taste is pine, with malt, leading to a pithy grapefruit and resin with a grapefruit finish. A balanced classic.
