16 oz. can. Pours a hazy, yellow color, with a fair, foamy, white head. The aroma is bitter orange peel, quinine, butterscotch, and peach. Sweet and juicy, with a big, pithy bitterness. Medium to heavy body, chewy, and sharp. Aggressive and harsh, but quality.

Draft at the Aspen brewery. Pours a clear, straw color, with a fair, fizzy, white head. The aroma is coriander, spruce, lavender, and toffee. Fairly dry, with a mellow, floral bitterness. Light to medium body, crisp, and sticky. Hoppy and pretty nice.

Draft at the Aspen Brewery. Pours black, with a fair, foamy, tan head. The nose is espresso, cocoa powder, light maple, burnt toast, and cinnamon. Dry and malty, with a big, roasty bitterness. Medium body, astringent, and biting. Aggressive and pleasant.

Corner location in downtown Aspen. Chill, brewpub feel. All high-tops inside, and a small patio, with a big bar and a pool table, and subdued decor. The tap list is spruced up with mostly Westbound draft and standard Aspen beers. The server was friendly and helpful, but they have a lot of self-service features, which annoy me. The pizza was tasty enough, but quite overpriced. Nice, chill spot in an otherwise uptight town.

Draft at the Carter Payne. Pours a clear, straw color, with a small, white head. Nice hickory smoke, mild spruce, lemon zest, apple, and rosemary. Quite dry and musty, with a mellow, herbal bitterness. Light, astringent, and fairly clean. Nicely done and thoroughly interesting and tasty.
