Bottle from Waitrose and drunk as part of my no surprise advent calendar. Great pour. Quite flat in the glass but full of flavour. Rich malt, with well balanced bitter hops, a welcome and slight sweetness and a hit of alcohol. A really good beer. Very traditional and all the better for it.

Bottle from somewhere and had as part of my homemade advent calendar. Good pour and a real malt assault on the nose. You can really taste the house yeast and there was an weird aniseed flavour. Yeast, some bitter hops and a shed load of malt. Ok, but wouldn't buy again.

Bottle at home from the little shop in the next village and a very strange find. Had it as part of my homemade advent calendar. Good pour and a sweet malt aroma. And the taste was just all sweet malts. Too sweet for me and it was a drain pour. Not worth the units.

Can at home from Tesco. Substitution because the previous beer was a drain pour. This is all about crazy levels of hops and there are a hell of a lot of them. Maybe too many. But I suppose this is a DIPA so sessionable doesn't enter into the conversation. Nice to try....

Day 7 of my homemade advent calendar. Picked this up off the Fullers website recently. They were obviously having a clear out and I'm a sucker for this sort of thing. BBE is August 2014 and I know I had it when it was first out. Anyway, its still alive with lasting lacing. Very murky and a sweet aroma. The taste is all sweet malt and no sign of the hops - all completely gone. It's definitely past it's best and couldn't drink it all. Shame.

Tasty beer. Not particularly Belgium but good nonetheless. Well balanced malt, hops and alcohol and just great to drink.

Day 3 of my homemade advent calendar. Great pour with a good and long lasting head. Huge rich malt that was well balanced with the alcohol. Very English and all the better for that.
