I obtained a 16 oz can from Half Time Beverage. My New Belgium globe glass, likely my favorite one, gets the duty today. I make the pour to see an orange-gold body with a persistent, creamy head of completely white foam, maybe some lacing effect later. The nose is in-line with the style, peaches, grain and a hint of hoppiness. The taste expands on that, mangoes, peaches, malt, honeydew, white bread and a touch of pine. An easy drink and considerably tasty.

A 12 oz can located at the Hulen St. Total Wine earlier this year, I believe. A bar glass ready, I pour to see a hazy yellow-gold liquid finished by a long-lasting top of totally white foam. I smell a light hoppiness along with pineapple, no great shakes here. I lift the glass and take a drink. Big improvement. Really. Grapefruit, pineapple again, limes, grain, malt and orange rind. It all comes together. More bitter than sweet, a bit unusual for a hazy style IPA. Shares plenty of attributes from NE and WC styles both. Tasty.

A 12 oz can out of the Advent package picked up at the brewery, this is the base imperial stout, no adjuncts. I have a GH snifter ready to go. One shade short of black in color completed with a creamy head of chestnut tan foam. I smell bourbon immediately with scorched grain and oak following. The drink is subdued chocolate, toast, alcohol, caramel, malt and a touch of caramel. A bit thinner in feel than I prefer. A good enough imperial stout, not top level.

A fortunate find on the web of a 12 oz bottle. Using a Chimay glass I take the pour to see a darkish brown body with a fluffy tan top that lingers for a while. The smell is dark fruit, grain and alcohol. A drink gives ripe purple plums, caramel, vanilla, wheat bread, malt and booze. Nicely dense for the sensation. Good breweries turn out good beers.

I found a 16 oz can at Trader Joe's in Santa Fe. La Cumbre is a fine New Mexico brewery so let us see what they have here. A slightly hazy gold body and a proper cover of ice white foam. Globe glass ready to go, I make the pour. The nose is tropical and citrus, hops and cut hay. The taste is pretty much old school IPA with some small New England style effects. Grapefruit strongly, a hint of pineapple, orange zest, pine resin and malt. Bitter certainly and an oily sensation. A decently good IPA, I am glad to to sample it.
