The next beer might even be better. B.C."H." = British Cask "Head" - to be perceived as some disparate lonely looking bubbles, uncertain of their CO² content, and because of their scarcity, of undefinable colour. UFO's: Unspeakable Floating Obscenities MF: NO, that isn't it. That's mouthfeel, in civilized countries. I hereby solemny propose a law to be instated by all beergeeks, -amateurs, -lovers, -tasters, - enthusiasts that forthwith the use of the infernal spice, known as coriander, is forbidden for at least the five first years of brewing, and later only to be tolerated by explicit consent of minimum five different accredited beerorganisations. Infringements ought to be sanctioned by denouncement to the international beerpress and public drainpour of the offending brew.

Deep red beer, faint brownish sheen, with a fine, pinkish white rim. Fruit, red berries, felt, almost insectoid; sharp vines, wild wine, vanillewhiff. Vanilla-raspberries, wild raspberries and wild grapes, tart. Finish is sweeter. Overall there is weird wild flavour as from pelts from recently shot venison, and quite unlike the lambic aromas from Brettanomyces. Completely unsettling beer, and yet a must try. Many txs to Joren and the Kiwi beerspecialist that recommended the purchase.

Pinkish-red-orange beer with almost no head after an eyeblink. Fruity, vinous, sweet apples, bit putteke, other sour fruit, rhubarb. Sharp sourish flavour, going over into apple, and indeed scrumpy. Bit winegrapes too, if too sharp for wine - unless maybe for a non-vitifera wine. Acidburn and -thinning, better carbonated than it looks. Dry-out effect but refreshing. Goes back and forth between lambic and cider; dry despite the applesugars.

Magnificent purple beer under a dwindling cyclamen head. Intense horseblanket and ripe sour cherries, and even some (unripe) blackberries. Lactic acid, sharpish vinous nose. Intense kriek flavour, also as a sour cherry reduction with... red wine? Again a flavour as blackberries, brambles; Feels rather well-bodied despite the acids; very well-carbonated, fruitslick. Superb gem of a kriek, completely off the beaten track. I guess it are the dark malts that lend it an absolutely unseen depth.

Slightly aged beer - 1 point because of the clear glass bottle abomination. Almost no head, undercarbonated pink/terra cotta/orange tinted metallic red beer. WIld yeasts, Brettanomyces-like, sour fruits and (rasp)berries. All the above returning in the mouth. There are grapes, but not vinous (or it would be a cheap rosé). Looks dead-still, but the fresh acidity compensates in MF. Light, bit slick. Long lasting flavour & acidity. Amusing, if more than a bit homebrew-like, missing the complexity of a fruitlambic. And care to explain why neither volume nor ABV are indicated on the label? Txs to Stef!

Small white head over fully hazy pale yellow beer. Yoghurt (fruit-), hint at vanilla, dry grains & malts. Sour, fruity, citrussy. Simple and straigthforward. Warming up a bit the green kiwi becomes more and more outspoken. Refreshing, good carbonation, gets somehow quite slick. Amusing summer beer. Txs to Stef!

Huge dense & frothy cream head, pitting in over red-shot black beer. Roast, sweet, nutty, meaty; Maillard reaction, breadcrust. Sweetish, less roasted than the nose, bit of coffee, dark bread, roasted nuts. Quite chewy, very oatmeal slick, well-carbonated. Decent if unassuming stout. Txs to Stef!

White rim for seconds only; clear metallic golden beer. Nice, bit catty if fresh hops, exotic fruit, pineapple, peppery. Bitter and sweet exotic fruit. Somewhat metallic bitterness, bit of resin and again a tad catty retronasal. Light to medium bodied, not very carbonated. Harsher finish. Nice introduction with the first South Island IPA. Txs to Joren and gang!
