On tap at Eremita, pours a clear pale golden with a small white heae. Aroma has soft rice, floral hops, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour has a soft, floral hops, soft malts tempered by the rice, and a gently bitter finish. Balanced well, nice hop expression, good rice incorporation. Solid.

On tap at Eremita, pours a clear dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted bready malt and a touch of caramel. Flavour is pretty weak, with toasted bready malt, not much else. Clean enough but totally uninteresting.

On tap at Eremita, pours a deep dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma has plenty of oats, toasted malt, and some earthy dry cocoa. Flavour is dry, with soft oats, toasted malt, and a touch of dry cocoa powder. Pretty flat and lacking malt depth. It’s okay.

On tap at Eremita, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma has a sort of jasmine-like floral hop character, herbaceous notes, and soft biscuity malt. Flavour is quite fruity, with a weird herbaceous character and some guava-like rotting character. Odd fruitiness here that doesn’t sit right. Not good.

Beautifully designed spot in a great location, a little outside San Jose. 10 house taps, plus a guest mead tap. Flights of 4 x 6 oz pours available for 5700 CRC ($12.60 USD). Draft beer was pretty weak/mediocre at best, with most beers being drinkable. We visited with Costa Rican/Central American Untappd admin, Daniel, and we got to share a 750mL bottle of their brett tripel, which was pretty solid. Friendly service and very comfortable spot. Recommended.

On tap at La Planta, pours a hazy blonde with a small white head. Aroma has some tart guava-like fruit and soft wheat. Flavour almost seems salty, with tart lemon-like fruit, wheat, and a saline-like finish. Clean enough but rather dull. It’s alright.

On tap at La Planta, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma is very dull on the passionfruit—flat hops, dull malt, faint crappy fruit. Flavour is very dull, with faded, old-tasting fruit, without any real hop expression nor malt base. Pretty weak and dull.
