On tap at La Planta, pours a clear dark copper with a small beige head. Aroma has soft toasted malt and very light caramel. Flavour has some caramel, toasted malt, and light sugars. Clumsy balance, not much malt base. It’s alright.

On tap at La Planta, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma has some English malt, low-level diacetyl, and a touch of resinous hops. Flavour is overcarbonated, which throws this off a bit, with English bready malt, bittering resinous hops, some pine, and toasted caramel. Finishes spritzy due to the carb. Odd one. Not bad.

Cool spot, but a fraction of what it used to be I'm told by local Untappd admin, Daniel. They used to do all sorts of experimental beers, but now it's pretty basic stuff. They had 8 taps, with flights of 5 for 3500 CRC ($8 USD). Beer quality was average at best, with the WCIPA being solid and most of the rest being forgettable to subpar. Friendly service. The place was deserted on a Tuesday evening. This is way outside San Jose, so only visit if you have easy access out here.

On tap at La Planta, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma has some melony hops, crisp biscuity malt, and a touch of old pine. Flavour has a nice piney hop character and crisp biscuity malt. Dry, lightly oily, well-balanced. Not too bitter or aggressive but well-made.

On tap at Soberanos, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma has plenty of oats, gentle vanilla, and a touch of dry cocoa. Flavour has rich oats, deep vanilla, and a touch of cocoa. Gently sweet finish, with plenty of vanilla and a solid malt base. Very good.

On tap at Soberanos, pours a clear copper red with a small beige head. Aroma brings out fruity berry-like hops, floral hops, and toasted caramel malt. Flavour is very fruity, with lots of floral hops, red berries, some pine, and toasted biscuity malt. Reasonably constructed, finishing fruity and light bitter. Decent.

On tap at Soberanos, pours a cloudy bright amber orange with a small white head. Aroma has bright guava, lightly tart blackberries, and a touch of saison yeast. Flavour is dry and actually not that fruity, with light hay, gentle blackberries, and straw. Not particularly complex nor fruity. It’s alright.
