On tap at Green Bench, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma has lightly sweet green apple skins, some apple core, and a touch of funk. Flavour is dry, with a champagne-like effervescence, crisp and dry apple skins, nice minerality, and aggressive carb that works well. Really nicely constructed dry, slightly funky cider.

On tap at Green Bench, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma has gentle coffee upfront, with light earthiness and some toasted malt. Flavour has a rather vegetal coffee character, with very light, flimsy malts. Sure, it’s a dry stout, but I want more malt and more coffee in my coffee stouts, and less vegetal character. Not bad, but far from optimal.

On tap at Green Bench, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Nose has sweet melony hops, some citrus, some pine, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour has a nice melony hop character, with piney, some light dankness, and crisp biscuity malt. Good hop expression, though not exactly typical for NZ hops. Good balance, good construction; solid.

On tap at Green Bench, pours a clear blonde with a small white head Aroma has a rather sweaty hop character—definitely lacking brightness—with a dry, earthy, bready malt base. Flavour does not reveal a very pleasant hop expression: lots of sweaty, tired notes, earthiness, almost a bit of THC. Lacking brightness. This doesn’t work for me.

On tap at Green Bench, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of mineraly notes, light-to-moderate dry smoke for the style, and soft wheaty notes underpinning this. Flavour is dry, smoky and mineraly, with gentle campfire smoke upfront, mineraly notes, and soft wheaty notes. I was warned this was really smoky, but it’s on the more timid side for the style. A bit too mineraly, but reasonable done.
