Clear golden orange with a white head. Big resin notes that overwhelm everything else. Not much else to note. Medium bodied. Solid but one dimensional.

Golden with a white head. A bit of floral, noble hops, lightly sweet malts. Medium, soft body. Finish almost has a nice snap but gets all flabby right at the end. A crisper profile would rock on this and make it a power. As it stands, solid.

One of those massive beer halls serving traditional German food and beer. Loads of Tucher beers on all in good form. The food was traditional and delicious. Service was friendly and quick. We sat outdoors and people watched while we ate and drank. The inside is impressive and seems to never end. The shiny brewing gear was a scene setter, for sure.

I ended up here twice on a recent short trip to Nuremberg for a couple reasons: The Dorn Brau was in excellent condition, the grilled sausages smelled and tasted great, and the setting was beautiful and conveniently located near the train station. It’s definitely a restaurant but loads of folks came here for the beers first and foremost (according to my eye test). Located at the base of one of the large towers the city is famous for. Service can be great or not great, depending on how busy it is. The servers were friendly until you tried to pay with card instead of cash. That seems to be more a cultural thing than just this location, though. Still, I enjoyed everything this place offered and would come back again next time in Nuremberg.

Black with a firm beige head. Creamy body. Roasted malts, lightly bittersweet chocolate, light molasses, earthy hop profile, a touch of burnt black malts. Finish is dry and roasted with some bitter cocoa. Really nice brew.

Deep copper. Cardboard, citrus notes that shouldn’t be there, toasted malts. Tastes like beginner home brew.
