Panda thanks to Wingman. Near opaque dark brown beer, a small and short lived bubbly dark tan head. A fairly light palate for a hefty brew like this, reasonable fine carbonation. Big bourbon booze, intense and slightly bitter bourbon soaked fruits stand in stark contrast to sweetish vanilla. Spicy booze finish with a little heat. I think some love went into crafting this brew, that said, I am not entirely comfortable with the end result. It's very punchy but a little disjointed with it.

Panda thanks to Cloin & Wingman. Opaque black brown beer, no head. Smooth palate, no real carbonation. Rich chocolate, a good balance of dark chocolate and milk chocolate. Slightly bitterish praline on the back end along with some booze. Tastes like a rich chocolate liqueur. Amusing in small quantities.

Panda thanks to Cloin & Wingman. Muddy looking black - brown beer, no head. Airy palate, modest fine carbonation. Rich chocolate malts, tangy. Some dark chocolate bitterness. A little vanilla and strawberry on the back end, very subservient to the choc. A boozy bourbon finish. Coconut pretty subtle. Entertaining, wouldn't want a whole one.

Panda thanks to Wingman. Not quite opaque dark brown beer, a few tan bubbles. Viscous palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Thick chocolate malts, plenty of salted caramel. Finishes smooth with a modest fruity rum. Full on but lacking something, a bit more rum and a bit less salted caramel would have been good.

Dominant flavours are cinnamon and candy orange peel. It doesn't feel particularly joined up. Not something I could drink a lot of whilst not hating it.

Can. Near clear amber beer, a tidy pale tan head. Light palate, mildly dry, a good fine minerally crisp snap. Smooth malts, a thin malt cream and a touch of biscuity caramel that sans any sweetness. Monroe hops - finally! Smooth cooling pine, an edge of bitterness. Red berries??? A whisper maybe in the back end. On the edge of perception really l. Airy tangy crisp finish. Perhaps a tiny bit more red berries in the aftertaste. A nice Vienna lager but, my first encounter with Monroe has left me scratching my head.

The dark malts are a little thin bodied but bring mellow dark chocolate and a biscuity malt cream. Soft but pleasing coffee, a little earthyness, and a Starbucks like milky coffee. Airy semi dry finish. A pleasant and light drinking coffee affair.

Can. Pretty much an opaque dark brown beer with a good and fairly persistent bubbly tan head. Light palate, semi dry, good fine minerally carbonation. The dark malts are somewhat light bodied but deliver a decent dark chocolate, some mild roast, thin dark malt cream. Whisper of ash.Touch of ripe fruits on the crisp and semi dry finish. Seems a tad crisp for a 1912 brew but the rest of it tastes genuinely old school. 114 years ago, people didn't have access to the worldwide smorgasbord of flavours we do today, so I reckon the chocolate flavours in this brew would have made this brew something more back in the day. A fascinating look backwards and quite satisfying.
