340 ml clear bottle, special design, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.2%. Golden colour, large to moderate white head. Sweetish aroma of malts, honey, flowers and herbs. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour has the same elements as the aroma, a whiff of smoke in the finish, low bitterness.

440 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.2%. Hazy pale yellow colour, large white head. Aroma of mango and other tropical fruits, also citrus and pine. Fizzy mouthfeel, light bodied. The flavour is slightly on the dry side, with the same elements as the aroma. Low bitterness.

Original rating 2002: (Cask conditioned at The Grid, Southfields, London). One of the best beers I’ve ever tasted! Top rating at The Great British Beer Festival. A real ale bitter with a complex aroma and flavour, still it’s surprisingly light and refreshing.

330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken as Svartberget 8,463 M Makalu DIPA. ABV is 8.5%. Brewed for Svartberget by Åreskutans Bryggeri AB. Opaque yellow colour, moderate to small white head. Aroma of citrus and tropical fruits, humid cellar in the background. Flavour of citrus and tropical fruits, some piney notes, medium bitter finish.
