Cask at Archibald Simpson, Aberdeen. It pours pretty much black with a thick, dense tan head. The aroma is dark roasted malt, charred, earthy, burnt toast, cacao nibs, dark chocolate, malt loaf and coffee beans. The taste is firmly dry, bitter, dark roasted malt, charred, coffee beans, light acidity, umami, liquorice, dark chocolate, cacao nibs and slightly ashy with a dark roasted finish. Average body and moderate, foamy cask carbonation. Decent

Can at the launch at Mount, Aberdeen. It pours crystal clear very pale yellow with a fizzy white head. The aroma is quite clean, grassy, leafy, toasty grains, smooth powdered sugar sweetness and custard cream biscuits. The taste is crisp, dry, clean, pleasing bitterness, grass, leafy, herbal, bitter - sweet character, verbena, toasty grains, biscuit, peppery spice and weak lemony citrus with a dry finish. Average body and moderate, fizzy carbonation. A classier lager offering from the big T. Bitter snap works well.

25cl can from Westhill Service Station. It pours crystal clear yellow with a frothy white head. The aroma is sweet upfront, doughy white bread, sunblest, corn muffin, toasty grains, biscuit and custard. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter - sweet, toasty grains, sweet doughy white bread, custard cream biscuits, grass and damp leaves with a shorty, toasty grain finish. Average body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Sits on the sweet side for the likes of me. Drinks fine though.

Can direct from Futtle. It pours sever so sightly hazy yellow - blonde with a small, fluffy white head. The aroma is soft, freshly baked
d bread, doughy, cereal, toasty grains, touch of lemon-lime, white grape skin, gooseberry, must, sherbet, hay and barnyard. The taste is crisp, dry, snappy, touch of pucker, lemon-lime, lemon balm, fleeting sherbet, gooseberry, white grape skin, some sweet biscuit, doughy white bread, toasty grains and muted funk with a firm, dry finish. Average body and fine+ prickly carbonation. A very futtle take on a lager. Classic lager base still but with some zingy fruit and dull funk. Super moreish and chuggable.
