2025 Gold Wax Version

A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, no head.

A- Brownie batter, vanilla, mild bourbon.

F- Dark chocolate, mild bourbon, vanilla, faint espresso.

T- Full body, slightly oily texture, average carbonation, balanced finish.

O- Lots of brownie batter on the nose and palate with the bourbon barrel helping to cut the sweetness but really not standing out. This was good and blended well but I wanted a touch more complexity to it. Not too hot or sweet or anything. Really good but felt just short of expectations for me but maybe I overhyped it.

Can.

A- Pale yellow color, clear liquid, minimal white head.

A- Faint lychee, apple, mild stone fruit.

F- Apple juice, faint lychee, very faint peach, slightly sweet.

T- Light body, average texture, high carbonation, sweet finish.

O- Okay but I wanted so much more peach and lychee flavor. Just really let down with the flavor, not bad but very weak. Might have to revisit.

F- Pineapple, tangerine, funk, subtle oak.

A- Dark brown color, opaque liquid, tan head.

A- Malt, woodsy, caramel.

F- Oak, caramel, malt.

T- Full body, slightly thick texture, average carbonation, malty finish.

O- Almost a creamy head and texture which felt out of place but not a bad thing. Loads of caramel and malt. Good but also just okay. Wanted a bit more substance or complexity to it. Borderline being a malt bomb.

A- Dark brown copper color, dark liquid, minimal head.

A- Brown sugar, oak, dark fruits, mild booze, rich treacle.

F- Oak, booze, mild caramel, figs, dark cherries.

T- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, complex finish.

O-2025 vintage. Wow, that's a lot of barrels and a lot of time spend in said barrels. You'd expect this to be insanely hot but it was deep and complex. Lots of dark fruits coming through, especially fig, date, and cherry. A nice oak influence and some very faint vanilla and caramel from the barrels, as well as maybe a touch of spice. Quite nice.

A- Orange color, hazy liquid, white head.

A- Forest floor, mild yeast, oak, subtle funk.

F- Smoke, overripe pears, dusty, rustic yeast.

T- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, earthy finish.

O- Smoked pears, what a fun adjunct. This was right up my alley. Reminds me of beers I had when I visited Scratch, very rustic. This was the perfect beer for a cool damp late night patio summer beer. The smoke is very much present but so are the pears. Unique.

A- Golden orange color, hazy liquid, white head.

A- Cat pee, green onion, dank, grapefruit, tangerine.

F- Dank, bitter, catty, citrus.

T- Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation, dank finish.

O- Okay, pretty catty with a fair bit of juicy citrus pith bitterness. Love Side Project but I'll pass on the IPAs.

A- Purple color, clear liquid, pink head.

A- Raspberry, candy.

F- Raspberry, sweet, hard candy.

T- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, sweet finish.

O- To be fair, this was a year+ old but it was also only 99 cents for the can in 2026, so in this economy at that price, it's worth the cost of admission. Tasted like a raspberry hard candy. More soda like than beer in terms of mouthfeel and flavor.
