Two Lights is an ode to two of the more refreshing drinks of summer: cold beer and sparkling wine. While brewing this beer, we add sauvignon blanc must—the freshly pressed juice of the grapes. Then we ferment it with both lager and champagne yeast to create a tart, crisp, and dry profile. The finished beer’s aromas of pear, grape, and light hops pair with a flavor profile that’s a mix of tropical fruit and the snappy spritz of a freshly picked grape. We suggest sipping Two Lights by a water source too large to see across.

Aroma and flavor are a direct reflection. White grape is a large character throughout the brew. The east says more champagne then Belgian to me. Or perhaps it could be the effervescent mouthfeel. Kind of a strange hybrid but if you like white wine, it kind of works.

Nose is far more interesting than anything in the pint; the taste is surprisingly bland for such a highfalutin recipe. Mild sweet corn mixed with clove and a subtle yeasty fruitiness, before gaining a dry floral-tinged finish. Grape must adds a hint of tart acidity, but not enough to pull the profile out of a general listlessness. Disappointing.

Florals and a very light sense of wine grapes. More just like an ordinary Belgian blonde. Pours hazy blonde with decent head. Light sweet finish. Easy drinking and well balanced. Bottle at Right Proper.

Draft. I'm not sure what Allagash wanted with this beer. It's the perfect example of a light bodied malt beer with too much fruitiness from yeast. Rating gives Allagash a bit of the good ole benefit of the doubt.

On tap at Allagash, pours a cloudy yellowish blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out a lightly funky champagne yeast character, with some harsh bitterness in there. Flavour is harsh and yeasty, with lots of earthy notes, bitterness and improperly used saison yeast. This just isn't dialed in properly. Not good.

Pour looks like lemonade with a large fizzy white head. Aroma is some grape must but not much beyond that. The head is so huge that getting any aroma is tough. Flavor is some lager and pils type malt with some lemon and a bit of white grape. Not a huge aroma or flavor for a Allagash beer. This needed a bit more of the bells and whistles of the beer to come out. As it is, it's just a fizzy pale lager.

Draft at the source. Hazy to cloudy pale yellow color. Aroma of spiced haystacks. Taste is white pepper and lemon. Light funk. Decent
