In 2017 created a new label called Funkyland Fermentationists for the production of Sour Beers. The logo, created by Nils Sandström is two not particularly beautiful hipsters dancing. This is our fourth sour beer after. The fresh wort is soured with a house blend of Lactobacillus (very good for the digestive system) until the pH reaches 3,7. Then we do a 100% Brettanomyces fermentation, producing flavors of sour lemon, sour pineapple, leather and farmhouse funk. As the Brett ferments the sugars, it creates a pellicle between the wort oxygen interface. Fermentation is finished on Mango, Passion Fruit & Hibiscus flowers

(Draught at Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival, 7 Sep 2024) Pale pinkish orange colour with brief head. Fruity nose with citrus, passionfruit, mango and hibiscus. Fruity, tart taste with notes of blood orange, pink grapefruit, mango, passionfruit and hibiscus. Low bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. A bit odd, but quite refreshing. Quite nice.

Bottle, thx Henrik. Misty amber-golden body, off-white head. Very cheesy, sharp sour aroma, saliva, bad but not as aggressive as the Blueberry one, but still cleared by sinuses. Some mango in the taste, with cheese and vinegar, soft taste at least, aggressive sourish touch in the finish. Not good but could finish it.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear, orangey red with a tiny, rough, off-white head. Very unpleasant smelly feet aroma, with a massive, lactic tartness and some berries. Light body, deeply acetic, some hibiscus notes and flat. Sloppy and really unpleasant. 230123

Where: Systembolaget.
Appearance: Hazy amber colour with an off-white head.
Aroma: Tropical fruit, mango, passion fruit, floral, malt.
Body: Medium body and carbonation.
Flavour: Tropical fruit, passion fruit, malt, mango, a bit sour.

Rød klar med minimalt hvitt skum. Lukter røde bær, bringebær, jordbær og kirsebær. Lett+. Søt fruktig, lett sursyrlig smak. Smaken er røde bær, rips kommer godt fram i smaken. Noe epler. Middels lang.

0,33 flaske fra Systembolaget Hansa (Malmö), i lejligheden nov-18: nesten helt klar rødlig rav med kort skum. Gode frut- og bærsmaker som mango, bringebær, rips og pasjonsfrukt. Men ikke mye som minner om øl, dette blir for endimensjonalt frukt/bærpreget. Nesten ikke karbonering. Passer nok best som en aperitif på terrassen om sommeren, ikke innendørs på en grå novemberdag.
