Bottle, 375ml corked, at Jæren Ølfestival pre-tasting. As Oude Geuze VAT 108bis. A dense white head forms over a slightly hazy golden colored body. Curtains. Very smooth aroma, funky, lemony, leathery and barnyard-ish, with a faint bready maltyness. It’s medium to full-bodied, tart and acidic, with a leathery, lemony and funky flavor. Some biscuity malts, with a lasting funky, sour finish. Perhaps a bit straight forward this one, but really nice indeed. 220812

Bottle, 375ml corked. A mostly clear one, golden in color and with a small white head. Some lacing. The aroma has a sweetish touch, with leathery, barnyard-ish funk, lemon and a touch of alcohol. It's full-bodied, dry and nicely carbonated, with a tart, lemony sourness. Flowers, lemon, barnyard and leather, hay and some grass in the flavor, lasting for a good while. A bit sweet this one, but sure refreshing and pleasant. 190906

Stor takk til fhv. skibsreder for denne utsøkte 0,375 flaske, som ble broderlig delt med trekkspilleren etter endt brygging av bursdagsøl: lett uklar gylden med fint skum som varer. Vidunderlig aroma og smak av søte citrusfrukter, ferske aprikoser, vanilje/eik, brett og blomstereng. Superb.

Vi feirer årets første tur med Fridtjofen! 0,375 flaske fra importkofferten, delt med skibsreden på soldekket, 22.4.19: lett uklar gylden med fint skum. Et herlig forfriskende bad i lekre citrustoner, grønne druer, hvitvin og ganerensende fruktsyre og en overbevisende maltkropp. Sjølivet er tingen!

Bottle. No idea where from. Hazed deep gold. Thin and fully lasting dense white foam. Nose has super clean oak. Leathery lemony brett. Lots of sweet white grape. Verges toward white dessert wine. Taste is tart funky oaky lemon. Super smooth and nonsense easy drinking. Fine carbonation. Very low acidity despite the oaky lemony tartness. Oaky bretty finish. Whoa.

Bottle. Wine Rack, Sharrow, Sheffield. Soft haze on a medium gold. No head. Nose has baked apple. Old oak. Leather. Touch of vanilla. Vinous and tart fruit. Taste is tart, dry, with a decent hit of baked apple sweetness. Medium body. Lightly oily. Moderate acidity. Fine, sharp carbonation. Lingering tartness to finish. Nice.

Bottle shared with Bernt at his place at Vaaland 08.05.22. Dark golden. Diminishing white head. Complex and very refreshing aroma and taste of brett, pale malt, citrus and wood. Very good!

Bottle shared with JMD on board Fridtjofen after tour to Vassøy 23.04.19. Translucent straw colour. Dense and persistent white head. Excellent aroma and taste of complex brett, fruit acidity and dry white wine. Very good! Dry, acid and astringent mouthfeel.

(Bottle) Golden amber colour with foamy, off-white head. Fruity, sourish nose with notes of grapefruit, unripe green grapes, lemon, barnyard, stable, horse blanket and oak wood. Fruity, tart taste with grapefruit, lemon, gooseberries, stable, barnyard, wood and a dry and tart finish with a mild bitterness. Medium body, mainly dry. Has a distinct and fairly aggressive acidity, but somehow remains elegant and refined in all its tartness. Great stuff.

Bottle @ Etre Gourmet, Belgium. Pours hazy Golden with a White head. Complex nose. Barnyard, Apple, sesame and citrus. Sharp funky and crisp dry finish. Superb.
