Bottle. Deep, dark brown almost black. Small head. Aroma is like rich chocolate. Taste is also like rich wonderful chocolate, roasted grains and dark toast. Nice.

Dark brown color with coffee aroma. Sweet and bitter dark chocolate bar flavor, some toffee taste. Smooth for a stout.

Bottle. Pours a pitch black color with a thick tan head and great retention. Great lacing too. Rich chocolate aroma. Rich dark chocolate flavor mixed with very dark roasted barley. Sweet, but not too much; Just enough to hide any bitterness. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. The 8.0% ABV and 45 IBU are both well hidden. Great balance and a great beer.

12oz bottle pours out black topped with a tan head. Nose is nice sweet chocolate vanilla coffee. Tatse is more of the nice sweet malts toast coffee and milk chocolate.

Draft at Craft Brewed. Pours a deep brown to black with a finger of tan head that lingers. Huge chocolate milk nose with cacao nib and faint coffee. Brownie-like character on the palate. Lots of milk coffee flavors come out as well. Super smooth and rich. Very drinkable with abv hidden well. Probably the best Highland I have had at this point. Great stuff.

On tap at Flying Saucer, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma brings out loads of chocolate upfront, with low roast. Flavour is an intense chocolate bomb, with dark chocolate dominating. Low sweetness and low-medium bitterness, with a fairly dry palate. Lots of depth and wonderfully rounded. Excellent.

Pour is a black with a large tan head. Aroma is a nice roasted malt and cacao nib chocolate. Flavor is a silky smooth chocolate with equal parts sweet and bitter. This is so chocolaty it reminds me of pouring Hershey chocolate syrup right in your mouth. This leaves a nice chocolate on the tongue well after the swallow. Kind of a one trick pony with the chocolate but it is done so well you can look past that and enjoy this for what it is.
