Bottle, bottled june 2017 opened february 2024 super awesome sweet belgian strong ale aroma with citrussy funky notes, apricot, refreshing malty booziness, even the phenolic notes are super well integrated, this has seemingly benefitted tremendously by staying in the bottle for a number of years. flavor is sweet almonds, malts, apricot, overripe and dried yellow fruits, somewhat oxidized, quite sweet, far from as pleasing than the aroma. sweet malty belgian ale with very clear notes from the barrelling, wood and booze is strong in this one. While it is very sweet it also appears very dry at the same time, which is a bit weird. Flavor changed taste from 6 to 7 after having sipped more of the bottle, it grows on you.

Thanks Walt for sharing the bottle! Poured into a taster showing deep gold with sparse white foam. The nose shows pronounced nutty notes of sherry. The palate is well carbonated and medium bodied. Strong forward notes of nuts, sherry, and umami followed by a roasted sherry bitterness on the finish.

Toranomon Hills tasting, thanks Walt! Creamy straw-ish orange pour, some white bubbles on top. Nose has... pickles, dill pickles, some sweet candy sugar and green apples too. Taste is quite light for a triple, some funk there, sweetness and light overall feel. Booze actually too, feels like a watered down bourbon, I guess that's sherry then. Pickles water with some residual sweetness at the end. Tasty.

Bottle shared in London - cheersto Kenneth. Pours mostly clear orange with frothy, white head. The nose has a bit of paint thinner, citrus peel, pale wood. Medium sweet flavour, some lemon, more pale wood, honey. Meidum to full bodied, lightly oily, with fine, massaging carbonation. Warming finish, more honey, pale bread, biscuits, lemon peel. Not bad overall. Interesting.

Level 6 bottleshare. Hazy orange beer, not much of a head. Quite a light palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Modestly sweet malts, a trace of typical tripel spice is more than compensated my the soft sherry barrel. Little dried fruits and citrus. Touch of wood. Smooth finish brings more mellow sherry. Easy drinking and assured. Leaves a mild warming glow.
