Dark brown. There's a lot of bourbon, rich cacao. A bit of umami, with a rich bourbon note. Assertive tannins, light alcohol. It's burly, I'm digging it, mostly because the base is such high quality.

750ml @ SF shared with almost full gang (missing two biggest guys only).
Aroma: a lot of American oak, a bit meaty, bold.
Taste: along the same lines, some say sauce.
Overall: another wood bomb.

750mL bottle, pours jet black, no head. Aroma is extremely barrel-dominated, with intense wood, tons of bourbon, roast, and iron. Flavour is full of intense bourbon barrels, big wood, medium roast, iron, and very gentle sugars. Super thick palate, almost too viscous/syrupy. Remarkably deep and complex, but borderline brutal. Great.

500mL bottle. Pours black with no head. Tons of bourbon barrels on the nose; burnt sugars, alcohol, charred wood. Flavour has an absurd barrel depth, great dry roasted malts, charred wood, burnt caramel. It's harsh, definitely not subtle, but this is well done.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a dark brown foamy head with some retention and some lacing notes. Aroma of chocolate notes with some deep bourbon notes with light vanilla notes. Taste is also a mix of chocolate notes with some deep bourbon notes and vanilla notes with light residual sugar notes. Body is full with an oily texture and good carbonation with light discernible alcohol notes. Solid BA stout with more focus on chocolate than wood.

A pretty dark, blackish colour with no highlights seen. A smaller, bubbly, mocha-coloured head, decent stay and a light ring left around the brew. A nice roasted malt base nose which gives some dark fruits, molasses, mild alcohol, chocolate and hints of nuttiness. The nutty character shows up a little more in the taste, giving a coconut touch. All over the rest found in the aromas. Everything is really well-balanced in this one, with nothing sticking out like a sore thumb. A thicker, oily mouthfeel with a nice drying finish. Not too much Bourbon-raisin notes. Just a really well-blended, Barrel-aged Imperial Stout.
