Mikkeller Tokyo BBP prototype tasting. Herbal nose with grass and grapefruit notes. Floral yeast on the palate with more light citrus and light malt. Bitter finish with some light earthiness.

Sampled at Zythos 2016. Thnx for sharing, everyone ! Pours unclear orange, small white head. Smell is hoppy. Taste is sharp, bitter, very aromatic. Typical clean BBP characteristics. Lovely, and the best out of these 4 .

Sampled draft @ ZBF 2016. (Thank you for sharing RB people!) I tried all 4 versions at ZBF but it is hard to compare them because instead of serving them side-by-side, the guys from Brussels Beer Project decided to pour them one after another with hours in between despite heaving 4 taps available. I suppose trying 4 session beers spread over 10 hours with dozens of other beers in between is the best way to try compare them which is the concept that they were going for here. Also they were the only stand not to rinse glasses at ZBF, there were no options to clean your glasses anywhere at the festival, it isn’t like you knew beforehand that they weren’t cleaning glasses. I suppose that whatever you drank before must mix well with a 4 % ABV session beer. Overall this was bit of a baffling appearance at the beer festival, rookie mistakes I hope? Anyway, I remember the yeast profile being dominant for all 4 & quite similar, I assume, yeast, most of the recipe is pretty much the same for all 4 safe for changing hops and an added ingredient for the Flower one. /////////////////// Hazy orange, / amber, off-white head. Nose is raw dry wet hops, light wort, green hops. Taste is much like the others, too yeasty for me, lightly doughy, wort, green hops, tad plaster. Body is a bit too yeasty, plaster-like for me. Okay but too yeast, tad too wort-like. Okay.

23/IV/16 - on tap @ Zythos Bierfestival 2016 (Leuven) - BB: n/a (2016-441) Thanks to the BE RB crew for sharing beers today!

Note: I love the idea of BBP, to bring out different prototypes, and let the people choose which they like best. They did this with the Alpha - Delta, 1-4, and now we have the different. Colours. Unlike previous series, this time they're not different beer styles, but all 4.7% session ales. That means they'll be a lot closer to each other in tasting experience. BBP has set up a series of sample events where you get to sample all different versions. Splendid. But not if you come to Zythos. There you only get to try the next, if the previous keg ran out. So here's your sample, now go ruin your palate with a bunch of other beers, and come back for the next when you've forgotten how the last one tasted. Weirdest concept ever...

Clear orange beer, creamy off-white to beige head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, pineapple, lvoely smell, resinous, passion fruit, bit sweet, some caramel. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: citrus start, grapefruit, bitter, bit resinous, bit yeasty. Aftertaste: hoppy, grapefruit, some citrus, bitter, bit metallic.
