Bouteille 33cl, BB 04/2018.

Keg at the Bottle Shop. Hazy amber beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is light, dry and has a fine minerally crispness. Thin malts, mildly sweet. Tangy orange and orange peel hops. Traces of lemon and blood orange. Thin dry creamy finish. Thin but flavoursome.

Keg at the bottle shop during the tap takeover. A brown amber colour pour with a thin off white head. Aroma is earthy grains, woodland berries, pine, rye bread. Flavour is spicy earthy nutty brown bread malts, pine. Spicy pine needle hop. Palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation. Assertive earthy hop finish.

Keg at the Bottle Shop - London. Pours mostly clear reddish gold with a creamy, off-white head. Rindy orange in the nose, light yeast, gummies, tangerine. Light sweet flavour with mellow toasty pale malts, grain, orange rind. Light bodied with massaging carbonation. Bready malts in the finish, toasty grains, rindy citrus, light pine. Good stuff.

On tap at The Bottle Shop Bermondsey. Hazy deep orange colour lasting thick beige head. American grapefruit hoppy aroma. It’s more like an apa than a saison. Resin pine grapefruit. Not much saison character but nice enough hops.

Keg at Bottle Shop. It pours cloudy amber with a medium off-white. The aroma is sweet, candy, grainy, bread, dried fruits and sugar. The taste is crisp, pretty bitter upfront, pithy citrus, grapefruit, soapy citrus, peppery spice with a dry finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Bit of a disconnect between taste and aroma. OK at best.

19/06/2016 @home - 33cl bottle (as red proto) from Bierhalle Deconinck. Clear orange with rocky foam. Nose is huge fruity hops (peach, mango). Taste has more focus on bitter hops with a light fruity backbone. Not my favorite but clearly the strongest of the proto’s
