375ml bottle, 2020 vintage. Chocolate aroma with notes of chili peppers, roasted malt, toasted malt, licorice and coffee. Pours deep brown with a thin mocha brown head that has some retention and a thin ring of lacing. Starts with rich roasted malt, dark chocolate and licorice flavors as well as having a rich, full body and smooth, but dry mouthfeel. Finishes smooth with toasted malt, coffee and chili pepper flavors with the chili pepper heat lingering on the palate long after each sip. Was expecting the chilies to be subtle after all the time in the cellar, but it still has a nice kick. Quite nice.

12.7 oz. Aroma is wet stone, peppers, dark chocolate. Pours black with some immediately collapsing tan foam settling into a bubbly ring. Taste has a faint sweetness, moderate to high bitterness, and quite a bit of pepper heat--much more than the hint suggested on the label. This is fine by me, as a love a nice pepper burn in these types of beers. It finishes with a long dry bitterness and lingering pepper burn. Not bad at all.
