Smell is hard to pick there isn’t much there. Nothing on the head either and a little touch of hops/bitter aftertaste that lasts all of three seconds. Makes me wonder about the so-called ’bitter’ category. Bottle.

(Bottle, 0.5 l, 20120205) The beer poured copper coloured and clear. Its head was medium sized and almost white. Aroma had toffee, malts and hops. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, toffee, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. An ordinary bitter with perhaps a bit stronger hoppiness than bitters usually show.

Originally rated June 2009. First brew tried from this brewery, and limited at the LCBO. Popped open the cap, and the beer came out foaming (with the same care I give other bottles). Big bubble carbonation and head is off-white, foamy, has good retention and produces great lace. Beautiful rich clean copper colour. Grainy nose with a little hop in the back. Smooth and slightly thick mouthfeel. The taste is on the caramel side, with a little hop finish and a grainy aftertaste. Nothing offensive here and no strong overpowering points, but a decent refreshing bitter.

This ESB poured a dark orange colour with a nice creamy white head. To the nose there are scents of raisins, sweet dark malts, bread, hopps and a little caramel. First taste is very creamy but a litle watery. Flavours of ripe fruit and hopps are the most prodominant with off flavours of grass and wood. Finish is hoppy with ripe fruit lingering.

Bottled (from K Citymarket, Vaasa). Copper colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is grassy and floral hops along with some slight malty notes. Flavour is quite much the same with some mild nutty notes as well. Mild wooden notes as well. A bit like a lighter version of Fullers ESB.
