It was a given that when Sierra Nevada and Boneyard join forces to make a beer, youre gonna get some type of an IPA. Together were brewing an intense West Coast-Style Double IPA heavy with the classic hop character that defines both our beers. It features Mosaic, Simcoe, Centennial and Citra hops in ridiculous amounts, sure to please the hopheads within us all.

Sample during the "Collaboration Beers On Deck 2!" event on 08/13/2017. Clear orange-gold color with a medium white head that burns away steadily to a film. Stringy lacing. Aroma of citrus, herbal hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of grapefruit, resiny hops and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a lingering citrusy hop aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Can from Hegedorn's. Deep gold, bubbly, with lace. Grassy nose, pine, some honey, citrus, stone fruits, grapes. Prickly peppery finish. Full body but not too sweet, though a bit heavy and jammy. Dry finish.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated 04/26/2017; I probably should have picked up one of these packs sooner. Aroma has some medium light malt notes with cracker and light caramel. Rather hop forward, but the bright tropical fruit notes have faded and now its mostly grapefruit, pine, resin and other citrus notes. Pours a slightly hazy, bright orange with hints of copper and a medium large, fairly thick, frothy, white head that recedes steadily to a small film that lingers. Light lacing and small legs. Flavor has a medium light to medium sweetness to it with some light cracker, biscuit and caramel malt notes. Moderately strong bitterness with moderately strong to strong hop flavors. Lots of grapefruit, pine, resin and lighter orange notes. Any softer tropical fruit or stone fruit notes have faded by now. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a decent West Coast IPA but I wish I tried it while it was fresher. Definitely a West Coast hop profile. A bit too malt forward for my taste with too much caramel.

Pounder: Grapefuit, pine, apricot and cardamom nose. Clear amber, thick yellow head, nice lace. Apricot and grapefruit. Subdued pine finish. Medium body, soft carbonation, alcohol well concealed. Tasty and intense, but not boozy. Classic hop bill very well executed.
