Bottle at home. Aroma is sweet dark malt, caramel, candy sugar, raisins, mild spicy notes. Flavour is sweet with a light to moderate bitterness in the finish. Body is medium. Pretty sweet and sticky Doppelbock, not nearly as good as the Imperial Doppelbock from Emelisse.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Roast and caramel in the aroma. Malty sweet roasty flavor with laurel and caramel. Enough bite to compensate the malty sweetness.

Caramelly sweet, little bit of smokeyness, very malty, lots of roast. Classical doppelbock, with just a hint of rauch. Very well made.

(Keg at BrewDog Tallinn, 20171026) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had sweetness, honey, malts and caramel. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, molasses, grass, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, sweet and bitter. A nice but too sweet doppelbock.

Medium, dense, yellow-cream head, fast gone over mahogany beer. Bread, breadcrust, dry leaves, dry spices, coloured malts, caramel. Quite sharpish bitter spike, liquorice-like, over caramelly & toffee malts, obviously sweeter underbuild; breadcrust. Quite slick to viscous, medium to well-bodied. No new flavours in the aftertaste, but the bitter keeps hanging on quite long. Nice, certainly. But where is it brewed? Kamperland, Goes... or Rotterdam (let’s not think Hijfte)?
