Belgian Blonde Ales don’t have a terribly long and illustrious history as some of its counterparts from Belgium. However, Jonathan sipped one of his favorite sips of beer in his palate’s history when having Saxo, a beer from Brassiere Caracole in the province of Namur. This beer had a unique and sophisticated approach, with elegance that wouldn’t allow a bad plate of food near it. This was the impetus for this "BABO" Blonde. A soft sweetness from contiental pilsener malt and a slight touch of honey malt. Styrian Golding and Tettnanger hops set a firm, herbal hop balance. Finally our friends from McClendon Farms in Scottsdale provided 22lbs of some of the finest honey you’ll ever taste.

Keg at Mikkeller Shoreditch, 08/11/18. Clear golden with a well presented off white head. Nose is tangy fruits, light spice whisper, grassy, breads. Taste comprises yeast esters, citric tinged straw, toasted grains, lemon rind, light honeycomb. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent well balanced Belgian affair.

Hazy light amber, thin head. Has a mellow plastic phenol note, with a malt accent. Sticky finish, not really showcasing much honey.

Pour at State of Origin 2018. Pours a clearish gold with a full 2 fingers of white, soapy foam that dissipate. Floral and grassy hop aromas with some bready malt and honey notes. Smooth on the palate with peppery yeast and bright honey and bread notes. Smooth and very drinkable. Lingering honey and malt on the finish with some pepper. --- Beer merged from original tick of Baboquivari on 11 Jun 2018 at 23:47 - Score: 7

Draft. Hazy golden blond body with a short white head. Aroma of herbs, basement mustiness, hint of spice, clove, earth. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation. Earthy base taste topped with funk, spice and bread. Nicely done.

On tap at Arizona Wilderness, pours a hazy golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out cereal malts, Belgian yeast, and light spiciness. Flavour is along the same lines, with cereal malt sweetness, Belgian yeast and light spiciness. Impeccably balanced and well-crafted. About as good as you can ask for for this style. Really nice.
