A classic malty West Coast IPA hopped with Centennial and Chinook for pine and bitter citrus fruits. Simpsons Double Roasted Crystal adds complex caramel and dried fruit notes with a beautiful red-brown hue.

Cask pint! At their taproom. It pours clear reddish - amber with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is soft, sticky, oily, resinous, woody, sticky pine, caramel, green, weedy and dankness. The taste is dry, yet soft, oily, chewy, green, weedy, dank, resin, leather, brown bread, leather, pine needles, nip of booze, burnt caramel and muted booze with a drying, bitter, sappy finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Solid cask westy. Not a huge amount of depth, it solid nonetheless.

440ml can. Clear copper/amber colour with an off-white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, slightly earthy, marmalade. Taste is malty, caramel, dried fruits, citrus, grapefruit, marmalade, slightly earthy, assertive piney bitterness. Medium bodied.
Nice old school westie, nothing special but decent for its lower strength.

Cask at the Bear, Paddington on 8th August 2025. Clear copper with shallow off-white foam affording scant lacing. Sweet caramel malt aroma. Malty in-mouth with sweet berry fruits and a sharp line of furniture polish that cannot be missed or avoided. This diminishes somewhat in the finish allowing tangy fruits to re-emerge. Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.
