Smell of roasted malt, mudcake. Black colour, no head. Aroma of tar, roasted malt, oak, vanilla, rye bread. Flat carbon. Slick texture. Very sweet.

Aroma: nice American oak, chocolate, and vanilla.
Taste: along the same lines, a bit on the thinner side, but flavour is very pleasant.

Draught @ First Draft, Chicago IL (Mar 2026). Opaque dark brown with a very small frothy dark chocolate head, low carbonation, initially sweet later medium bitter dark chocolate-mocha taste with rum/alcohol undertones, smooth body, long spirit dominated finish. Not terribly boozy despite the ABV.

Panda thanks to Cloin. Opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly dark tan head. Airy palate, a little dry, fairly smooth and mildly viscous upfront. The back end provides good fine minerally carbonation. Smooth dark malts, a good dark chocolate and mellow milk chocolate. Soft but rich coffee. Barrel aged richness, bourbon soaked ripe fruits, slightly spicy. The marshmallow only comes through on the back end and does so on tiptoe. Nicely done, another pastry affair from this brewery which really pares back the sweetness in a very good way.

Taste comprises roast malts, bourbon bite, spice, charr, dark fruit rinds, caramel.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close with a boost on offer.
Solid BA impy.

Bottle poured into a snifter. Black body with tan ring of head. Aroma seems slightly muted but has bourbon, caramel, vanilla. Taste is caramel forward with bourbon, roasted coffee, hint of vanilla/marshmallow on the end. Full body. Pretty tasty.

Black pour. Thin foam around the rim. Cocoa, molasses, vanilla, and chunks of something on the palate. Not sure what it is. But decent beer.
