We wanted to make a beer that was a bit outside of both breweries normal wheelhouses, so together we chose to create a twist on the classic, tart, Berliner Weisse. Were playing off the slightly sour twang of the base beer by adding heaps of dry-hopped flavor to complement the tartness with citrusy and fruit-forward hop notes. The primary yeast strain is Sierra Nevadas famous Kellerweis wheat beer yeast, which imparts notes of banana and clove, blending seamlessly with the hops to create a dry, white-wine-like flavor that is as crisp and refreshing as anything we've tried.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle. Aroma is acidic with some light citrus and yogurt notes. Medium grain notes with some moderate earthy and herbal hop notes. Light fruity notes. Pours a hazy, dull, golden straw color with a medium large, fairly thick and frothy, white head that recedes quickly to a thin film that lingers for a bit. No lacing or legs. Flavor is moderately acidic with a medium grain note and a faint of sweetness. Light bitterness with moderate hop notes, earthy and herbal with hints of citrus and tropical fruit. Light citrus and yogurt notes. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a pretty nice Berliner. The hop profile has started to fade though and the base beer is a bit bland.

12 ounce bottle. Pale yellow gold color. Small creamy ghost white head. Tart, sulphury, chalky aroma. Intense, tangy, yeasty wheat malt flavor. Notes of lemon juice, apple cider vinegar and sourdough bread. Bitter dry hops in finish are subdued. Certainly unique. " Ich bin ein Berliner ".

Bottle from Maruho shared at the Beer Zen Salt Valley Event. Lightly cloudy gold with a thin fuzzy head and a tart wheat aroma. The taste is acidic wheat and passionfruit. Very nice light drinkable Berliner with a clear dose of fruit character.

Minty grass, dandelion, lemon zest, and rubber nose, strong. Hazy amber, thin head. Tart lemon, lime. As the shock of the tartness subsides, floral dandelion appears. Light body, moderate carbonation.

Bottle: Cloudy, yellow-gold with a small white head. Lemon, slightly perfumed wheat malt aroma. Taste is fairly tart...lemon, wheat malt. Very good body and a good amount of wheaty-ness.... Didn’t get much in the way of hops, banana, or clove, to be honest.....just a bit of grass/straw....but overall, a nice, solid offering in the style.
