We wanted to make a beer that was a bit outside of both breweries normal wheelhouses, so together we chose to create a twist on the classic, tart, Berliner Weisse. Were playing off the slightly sour twang of the base beer by adding heaps of dry-hopped flavor to complement the tartness with citrusy and fruit-forward hop notes. The primary yeast strain is Sierra Nevadas famous Kellerweis wheat beer yeast, which imparts notes of banana and clove, blending seamlessly with the hops to create a dry, white-wine-like flavor that is as crisp and refreshing as anything we've tried.

Bottle. Lemon, biscuit malt, and dry grass/orange peel aroma. Golden yellow with nice head and effervescence. Lightly sweet lemon, biscuit malt, moderately sour citric acid, and mildly bitter dry grass flavor. Decent body. Pretty good - hops don’t come out much in the flavor.

12oz bottle. Perhaps my favorite of the 2017 Beer Camp box. Bright, astringent. The hops and the sour tones combine to create intense new school twang. Wheat gives the body some depth. Quite an intense flavors, rivals a lot of World Class offerings of the same style. Really good. Make this one a six pack please.

Bottled 4/18/17, drunk 5/28/17.
Clear, beeswax yellow, small, white head with minimal retention.
Very strong mineral-like character, with a great mix of nutty, biscuity wheat and well-integrated tart, lactic acidity. Yellow fruits galore from both lactic fermentation and dry hop, adding nectarine and passion fruit. Pretty surprised to find this not to be just a big noseful of overly dry, stark, lemon and lactic acid. No alcohol or flaw.
Quite fruity, unsurprisingly, in the mouth. Lots of nectarine, passion fruit, guava and lemon. Gets rather loose and watery as it progresses, unfortunately, with light metallic notes from the lactic character. Somewhat grainy and with low carbonation. A little disappointing as the nose showed quite a bit of promise. It’s still serviceable, but the carbonation being low and loose really knocks down the potential brightness/crispness that this style leans upon heavily.

Bottle from 2017 Beer Camp case. Derp golden, high fluffy head, big fat carbonation. Aroma is rather subdued, mild , but taste comes alive with the crisp tartness for which the style is known. True to its origins, it is also unadulterated with any adjuncts, nice to see here stateside. Pure, clean, simple.

Draft at Sierra Nevada, Chico. Golden pour with a small white head. Aroma is noticeably floral hops, but some citrus as well. Tastes of citrus and floral hops with a nice tart finish. Some lemon in there to. The hops played more of a role in the taste than expected; overall a very tasty beer.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy bright golden color with a large foamy orange-white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was musty and yeasty with pepper and egg white. The flavor was tat and dry with yeast, chalk, pepper and lemon notes. Long finish. Medium body. Ok.

Clear gold with a minimal white head. The aroma is tart light lemon. The flavor is tart and acidic, I’m not getting the dry hops. Vinous, and again, I get no banana or clove.

Draft pour pint at Special Brews, as part of their Beer Camp event. Love this event. Lightest beer on the menu to enjoy before playing in a ballgame. Slight haze, golden pour. Thin fizz head. A wheaty, straw aroma, soft fruit. Hints of tart peach like fruit. More wheat, but minimal. Flavorful and easy drinking. Good amount of tart. Good stuff. UPDATE: I surprisingly ran into this beer again. Considering it's been almost a year, I thought this one was dead and gone, but I was able to rescue it off a local beer shop shelf just a week or two ago. Even after a year, it's still damn tasty and refreshing. Really good beer
