Piercing bitterness in this ’brite’ English style wheat beer which mellows to reveal fruit overtones amidst a dry as a bone finish. This is a real thirst quencher.
In 2010, the bremaster was no longer get the wheat malt that was used so it is no longer a wheat beer.

Cask at Hatch End W’Spoons. Golden coloured ale with a fresh floral aroma. Quite hoppy for a wheat beer. Any beer brewed by Oakham is decent. This went down very nicely on a very warm late Spring day in suburbia.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Very pale straw with a thin white head; weak citrus aroma; surprisingly full-bodied; clean and fresh tasting with lemon and a dry biscuity body; gently bitter Grapefruit finish. Very refreshing.

Tap @ Brew wharf. Clear golden color, short white head. Aroma of citrus, lemon, some hop. Sweet sour lemon taste, decent bitter finish. On the brink of dishwashing water, but the hops keep it on the good side.

Cask at Oakham Brewery Tap, Peterborough. This is almost as good as it gets. I have known a 9 of this disappear in a smallish pub in 6 hours. Wonderfully drinkable with all of the normal Oakhams bits (golden hoppy citrus zesty) but with a roundedness from the addition of malted wheat. Fabulous. Re-rate Planet Thanet Beer Festival 2007. I had this 4 times, first and last beer of each day and it was faultless, the citrus aroma, the body that is fuller due to the addition of wheat and this grapefruit/tangerine finish that lasts and lasts.
