A trip around The World, in Amy Hasting’s latest. This is a super tropical, richly textured and bright green(!) Global IPA at 6.7%.

This beer is full of passionfruit and lychee for a full hit of tropical fruit flavours, with a subtle hint of coconut from the Pandan, as well as it’s not so subtle colour.

But to keep the hoppiness up we’ve flown in Superflux from Canada and Prizm from France to celebrate their recent visits for Hop City. Both are well known for the expertly crafted hop-forwards IPAs.

Between those two breweries, us and our British malts, the South American passionfruit, and the Asian pandan and lychee, this IPA really is about as global as we’ve ever achieved.

440ml can from Vinmonopolet Langnes. Hazy grey-golden body, fair lacing from a diminishing white head. Modest smell of floral, perfumed fruits. Tutti-frutti taste followed by vanilla sweet passion fruits to the ending. Way too sweet. Not for me, did not empty the can. (Tromsø, 18.10.2025).

6/10
Vanilla, passion fruit, floral. Missing a bit of character and body. Also some off flavours in the aftertaste IMO. This is still nice, but not the best.

440ml can. Pours a hazy yellow-green with a white head, a bit odd but depending on the light it looks a normal yellow. Aroma of vanilla, pandan, passionfruit. Taste has a fair bit of vanilla up front, tart passionfruit, lychee, pandan (floral, sweet), more vanilla to finish and some pithy hop, light bitterness. Medium bodied. Not too bad for a fruited IPA, probably better without the vanilla.

My Patron Saint Project Beer#4, today celebrating Saint Brigid Of Ireland, Patron Saint of Dairy Workers through a Patrons Project brew. Dirty pale golden and hazy coloured. Chewy candy style taste, towards bubble-gum, feels like I should be sucking rather than sipping. Plenty of similar aroma. A little rich for it. Interesting though.
