From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Bretty and grainy, bitter and dry. Grassy noble hop, some herbal hop. Crisp and dry, kind of like drinking a bretty Pilsner.

500 ml bottle. Honey gold pour. Large, frothy white head. Spotty lacing. Yeasty, bready, lemony malt aroma. Tangy, citrusy malt flavor upfront. Herbal, bitter green notes in middle. Hints of black pepper and lemon pith in the long, dry finish.

Bottle from Mikkeller Odense. Golden with a big white head. Inviting aroma of classic saison with malt, fresh grain, grass, herbs and spices. The dry, malty flavour has further notes of black pepper, bubblegum, golden apples and grapefruit. Mild bitter and very pleasant finish. Razor sharp version of the classical saison. It's mad expensive here in Denmark, otherwise I could drink a lot of this.

16 oz can. Aroma is dusty basement, SweeTarts, lemon, custard, wheat, banana. Taste is lightly sweet and spicy, finishing dry. Not bitter at all. Highly carbonated foamy mouthfeel. Not bad.

On tap at Rattle n Hum - West, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of saison yeast, with a bit of floral estery character. Flavour reveals a very nice saison yeast character upfront, with a hint of floral character. Really nice expression of the yeast. This is very pleasing.

Draught at Lulu's, 9/2/17.
Lightly-to-moderately hazy, blonde-maize with a firm, off-white head atop.
Bready malts and lots of strong yeast character combine to be rather forceful. Lots of clove, nectarine, white pepper and a big helping of grassy and peppery hops on the end. Just way too much going on here. Maybe the yeast is interesting and maybe the hops are too, but together it's just messy and crude (both seem like even separately, they'd be pushing it). No flaw or alcohol, but just no balance, depth or finesse whatsoever.
Similarly, the flavors are jumbled and forceful with too much green, grassy, astringent hop bitterness and, though the malts are well-presented flavor-wise, are a bit underattenuated, while a brisk carbonation exacerbates the bitterness. Clove, white pepper and too much hop character lie on the finish with growing sweetness further contributing to this very Americanized beer which is a saison in name only.
