My first ever Weiss was experienced in Berlin in November 1999. In Whitchurch this is a very mildly hazed golden coloured weiss ale, with the style developing as you sip, and very stewed fruity to begin with. Banana does begin to make an impact eventually.

Hand pulled pint in the Henry Tudor, Shrewsbury on 25th September 2025. All a bit watery, but true to style otherwise. Hazed dull old gold body, billowing white head. Banana like esters and flavours, hints of cloves, pity it's body depth and alcohol level didn't match real German Hefe Weizen.

Hazy gold with a tight frothy white head and a yeasty banana aroma, with a touch of citrus funk. Light bodied with a hint of graininess, banana notes alongside soft tart citrus and wheat, finishes dry and a touch bitter
