Our robust stout is labelled so due to its uncompromising approach to roasted malts. Bringing strong flavours of extra dark chocolate, intense espresso and a slight charred smokiness, this stout is then backed up by subtle toasted nuttiness and sticky treacle. This is joined by a small charge of English hop Phoenix, which brings low levels of bitterness, a little more chocolate and a touch of molasses.

Cask at Wellington, Brum. Dark and glossy. Foamy tan head. Aroma had creamy and coffee with a slightly sour edge. Flavourwise we have a sweet core with hints of bitterness and vaguely sour edge. But it's muted. Develops cardboard into the finish. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Attempting some creamy elements but falls well short. Average carbonation. Limp Stout.

Cask at Brewery Tap, Chester. Pours almost black with a medium sized foamy tan head. Roasted malts to the fore in the aroma, alongside milk chocolate and hints of dark fruits. In the mouth it is sweet and smooth, but with a little underlying bitterness and a slightly watery texture. Roasted malts combine well with coffee and dark chocolate in the flavour. Some hints of stone fruit later as well. Sweetness lasts into the finish. This is rather nice – plenty of flavour and depth to it.

Impressive stuff. Velvety. Lovely chocolate vibes, roast, soft earth, a nip of dark fruit, mocha. Incredible depth for the ABV. Lingering bittersweet cocoa. Great stuff.

Very deep brown to black with a tan head. Medium bodied. Lightly roasted, chocolate, a bit of ash, earthy bitterness. Really nice pint.

Deadication beer to Gul Mohammed, World's shortest man died on this day in 1997. No short measure for this solid regular style stout, not too strong, not too weak, with fair roasted notes mostly in aroma, but in taste too.
