Cask at Tanners Hall JDW, Darlington. Gluten Free. Orangey amber colour, white foam head and aroma of malt, caramel. Taste is sweet, malty, toffee, caramel, fruity citrus, with earthy hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying tangy malty bitter finish. Nicely drinkable

Not great, either it’s a bit off or it’s a poor beer. Ample damp carpets, earth and leaves, vague toasted malts, grains. Can’t say it was a pleasure.

Cask at Square Bottle, Chester. Pours golden amber with a small scummy almost white head and excellent lacing. Not much of an aroma, just vague hints of hops and fruit. In the mouth it is quite sweet to start with and slightly watery, but almost some underlying bitterness which gradually increases. Flavours of mats, mixed hops and berry fruits with some spicy hints later on. Some bitterness in the finish. It’s reasonable.

Cask handpull at Shakespeare Head Holborn JDW. Clear amber light brown colour. Lasting beige head. A slightly malty beer with some attractive caramel notes .good temperature. Slight bitterness on the finish. Its OK. As I say slightly caramel.

Third of a pint on cask at the gate house jdw.
Medium creamy off white head. Slightly hazy amber pour. Light bitterness
