5oz pour at Stillwell Barrington. Pours opaque gold-brown. Aroma has some good malts, but is dominated by overly sweet, lots of cloying malts, excess alcohol. Very thick on the palate. Flavour has some malts and citrus, but completely overloaded by boozy malts. Barely palatable. I can't decide whether selling or buying this beer is the greater crime. Don't bother.

341mL bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks Dany), pours a murky rusted dark amber brown with a small beige head. Nose is big resinous and citrus hop punch, along with rye and other similar grains, an almost a touch of cinnamon as well. Flavour is extremely hoppy, with shitloads of dry resinous hops, potent rye grains, and very dry toasted crusty bread. The hops are extremely potent and flavourful, though leaving little astringency. Very dry and rye-dominant on the palate. Quite unusual stuff, though certainly very well-made

Aroma: Ether and alcohol are coming out strongly at first nose and then with great difficulty I was able to dig some cereal and grain notes. Appearance: Brown with red glints, very muddy, full of particles, very dense. Beige head is thick, creamy and very long lasting, sticking very well to glass and leaving a very nice lacing. Taste: Attack is fully cereal and grain with a strong alcohol and bitterness finish. In front of the tongue, we can feel cereal sugars doing a good job followed by hops bitterness sustained by alcohol at the back as finish. Flavors are caramel, cereal, grain, hay, a bit of pepper and grassy notes of cutting hops. A full body, round and syrupy texture with a surprising bitterness compared to a malt liquor. Flavors could gain being more elaborate. A good product that I fairly enjoyed.

A copper red amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, vinous malt with floral and resinous hops, butterscotch, nice and classic. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with loads of floral hops, piney, grassy notes, grapefruit notes, more like a DIPA, well made. On tap at Winter Warmer Feb. 23, 2013.

Tap (Hivernale): Poured a deep copper color ale with a rather large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of spicy/peppery rye notes with some sweet caramelized notes. Taste is dominated by some spicy and peppery rye malt notes with some resinous hoppy notes offset by some caramelize semi-sweet malt notes. Body is quite full with good carbonation. Quite enjoyable and really well brewed with good balance overall.
