The fourth stop in Dan Mumford’s exploration of the UK, and if we’re stopping in the Northeast, we’re obviously getting Wylam involved. And if Wylam are involved, we’re obviously making a DDH IPA crammed full of as many hops as we could muster.
Wylam’s head brewer Lee has a soft spot for New Zealand hops and who are we to say no. White grape classic Nelson Sauvin, criminally underused Strata, and sweet citrus Riwaka all combine in this richly textured IPA.

440ml can bought at Vinmonopolet Tromsø. Pours a cloudy golden body under a stable white head leaving spotty lacing on the glass. Quite inviting aromas of fruity wheat with a floral scent. Mixed hop fruity taste, hints of passion fruits, peaches, and oats. Mid-dry fruity ending with a bitter note far behind. Medium+ bodied. Just okay, not much going on though. (Tromsø, 06.01.2026).

My Patron Saint Project Beer#6, today celebrating Saint Bede, Patron Saint of English Writers through a Patrons Project brew. 46.04 is a juicy appearance golden brew with a very small head. Active citrus gets to work in the palate, it's fruity and piney enough for it, but not beyond it's higher-end citric bitterness factor. It does threaten more though. Fairly carbonated in a dull manner. Pine best in aroma.
