Coffee is really delicate. Oxygen and time drive away its subtle varietal aromatics. With the help of our friends at Vigilante Coffee in Hyattsville, MD, we created a special blend just for this beer. The blend consists of 80% Brazil Capim Seco, which adds rich nutty and chocolate flavors, and 20% Ethiopia Natty Cheff, providing hints of berry and brown sugar notes. The same day the coffee was roasted, we added the blend to this uniquely toasty Imperial stout that includes Golden Wheat, Honey Malt, and debittered Black Malt!

Can.
A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, minimal light brown head.
A- Roasty, black coffee, mild vanilla.
F- Roast, black coffee, mild vanilla, chocolate, slightly bitter.
T- Medium body, slightly thick texture, average carbonation, balanced finish.
O- Clearly some high quality beans in this brew. One of the better coffee beers I've had in recent memory. Not sweet but also not a vegetal earthy coffee flavor. Like a nice cup of single origin coffee with a hint of booze. Tasty.

16 oz can. Aroma is packed with coffee, some dark chocolate, maple. Pours motor oil black with a half finger tan head that settles into a ring after a minute. Taste is bittersweet and a little tart with flavors of coffee and dark chocolate. Reminiscent of a strong cup of sweetened coffee.
