Devil Anse Hatfield led his family in the notorious and bloody feud with the McCoys during the late 1800s along the Kentucky-West Virginia border. Nicknamed Devil Anse, it was said that he was so strong and fierce he could take on the devil himself. No feuding is necessary when you enjoy the balanced bitterness of hops and tropical fruit characteristics in this satisfying IPA.

Sample at The RailYard. This brew is a clear pale golden color with a medium frothy bright white head that diminishes gradually to a dense film. Sticky strings of lace. Aroma of herbal hops, citrus and malt. Medium body with flavors of herbal hop, grapefruit and bready malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a citrusy hop aftertaste. Above average overall.

Can (6/11/24) from trade with Steve. Lightly hazy gold with tons of sparkle, nice head with good retention and soapy lacing. Aroma is musky herb, tropical fruit, background malt. Taste is pine and citrus, background bread. Smooth, frothy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste with moderate bitterness.

Has that cooling resin, evergreen hop aroma. Taste is hoppy bitter, some sweet malt with comes through after a few sips. Leaves that west coast IPA type bitter hop aftertaste.

Can from weihenweizen: pours clear gold with a frothy head that leaves lacing. Aroma is hefty citrus and some pine. Taste is moderately bitter, somewhat sweet. Mouthfeel is bot too heavy. Hefty citrus finish. Perhaps a small boozy note. Not bad old school IPA.
