Lots of coffee and lots roast. Actually pretty decent. Creamy consistency. Black pour with good head and lacing. Light bitter finish with some caramel. Some musky basement vibe. Bottle from La Belga.

A deep dark Imperial Stout with a thick collapsing brown head. In aroma, bitter chocolate with strange fruity notes, light coffee grind, licorice, OK. In mouth, a rather herbaceous bitter chocolate, with strange soapy notes, lots of redeeming coffee extract, light alcohol in fruity esters in finale. Bottle from El Trappist in El DF.

Bottle shared at Chriso’s mid-week lasting 03/07/14. Thanks to Leighton for the TJ impy stout. Dark brown opaque coloured pour with a lasting tan head. Aroma is cakey, spicy pepper, caramel sweet, touch of solvent. Flavour is roast, pepper, touch chilli, spicy cake, caramel. Palate is full bodied, low carbonation. Pretty good.

Bottle at Chriso going Dutch tasting, 03/07/14. Light black with moderate tan spotting and edgework. Nose is light roast, liqourice, dark toffee, cocoa rub. Taste comprises roast malt, light spice, cocoa powder, aniseed, dark toffee fudge, light vanilla. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. A pretty basic impy but drinkable none the less, the 9% is well integrated.
