Golden in colour, the nose is fresh and intense hops. The beer starts a bit sweet, but very nice floral hopped. Pine, Citrus and floral hops next to the nice bitterness, that coincides great with the nice sweetness in the background. The aftertaste is long, bitter-intense, fruity-floral. Aroma: The nose has some grapefruit/pineapple, and some pine hops notes as well
Appearance: It pours a hazy dark orange color with a foamy off-white head and sheeting lace
Flavor: The taste is lightly sweet, there's the citrus, plus some malty notes, and a bitter/hoppy finish
Palate: The body is medium, it has a creamy feel, a smooth carbonation, and a dry, slightly sticky finish
Overall Impression: Overall, this is a very solid beer. I have no major qualms with it, and I truly enjoyed drinking it, but it doesn't quite get to the world class level of the top examples of this style. Despite that, it is still very good, and certainly worth trying.

Bottle: Poured a orange copper off white creamy head. Aroma is caramel malt, citrus and spruce hops. Taste is a harsh bitter hops with some soft biscuit and malt which try to mild the finish.

Bottle. Pours hazy orange with off white head. Nose and taste of bready malt, caramel toffee, pink grapefruit and nectarine rinds. Lots more citrus on the palate than in the nose. Well balanced with the bready caramel. Finishes slightly dry and bitter pink grapefruit. Medium body.

Crisp hazy golden orange coloured body with a dense, two centimetre thick off-white head that leaves a relatively ugly lace, but a great orange and golden bronzed glow. Aroma of alcohol, fresh hops, apricots, peaches, more hops, a bit of hay and grass with finally a twinge of yeast. Full-bodied; Dense mouthful with a lot of malt, a good blast of alcohol and a solid lacing of hops, more grapefruity than floral, but not an obscene amount. Aftertaste shows the hops, alcohol warmth, apricots and peach flavours and a subtle lemon and citric vibe - but the sheer depth of the malt and alcohol are really noticeable at the end. Overall, a nice and very well executed imperial ipa. Good for someone who prefers a good balance in an imperial ipa, while having a thick and luscious body - this one drinks well, but it drinks large (the alcohol and body really play here), and given it’s in a 65 cL bottle - not an easy thing to consume by yourself on an empty stomach. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Brown Jug (Old Seward) in Anchorage, Alaska on 18-June-2011 sampled at home in Washington on 25-October-2011.

Bottle @ home. Dark golden yellow appearance with a nice fluffy, light cream colored head. Quite nice grapefruit citrusy, creamy, earthy hoppy nose. Grapefruit citrusy hoppy, straw, toasty malty flavor with an extended bitterness and resin on the finish. Kind of a thick, resiny bitter aftertaste. Tasty beer except that the finish isn’t all the smooth.

Bottle from Grape Expectations, Anchorage. Nearly clear light orange body, medium puffy buff head. Sticky, resinous nose with sugared citrus rind; bitter with prickly alcohol notes. Bitter, medicinal body, tannic and astringent with light citrus peel and potent, warming alcohol, more punch than flavor. Toast and sweet residual sugars provide some semblance of balance.
