This small batch brew is the third in our Limited Edition Brewer’s Pride Craft Brew Series. A combination of Citra and US Golding hops gives this refreshing lager its citrus flavor and floral aroma. The brew’s signature tartness comes from the fruit of the prickly pear, a cactus native to our brewery’s landscape that’s hearty, rugged and unmistakably unique - qualities we surely appreciate. Prosit!

Dark gold pour. Bright fruity nose. Smells sweet but not a sweet flavor. More tangy with pear notes. Light bodied and light carbonation.

Bottle. Drank from a bottle. Aroma was a nasty fruity smell that was not appealing. Taste was even worse. Not a very good beer.

Single from Kroger. Pint glass back at the BNB. Milko-like pour. Classy gold once it settles; lingering froth. Sour, floral, apple nose. Not really familiar. Sweet, grainy, apple malt, sort of a blonde ale taste. Floral earthy finish that reminds me of tea. Almost flat carb, chewy feel. Really odd & I'm not a fan.

Sample at Porch Growler. Clear pale golden color with a thin white head that burns away quickly to a film. Spotty lace. Aroma of pear, malt and mild spice. Light-bodied with flavors of stone fruit, floral wheat and malt. The finish is fruity with a short pear and citrus aftertaste. Average overall.

Pours golden with a thick white head. Aroma of sweet, sugary fruit punch. Taste has strange fruity notes: vaguely tropical, similar to a dragonfruit. Palate has mild hop elements that compliment the continued fruity notes. Weird but good.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 10/3/2016. Pours crystal clear deep orange/copper color with a 1 -2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big watermelon, blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, pear, pineapple, lemon, toasted biscuit, light caramel, herbal, and floral/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of cactus fruit and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of watermelon, blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, pear, pineapple, lemon, toasted biscuit, light caramel, herbal, and floral/toasted earthiness. Light herbal bitterness and slight fruit tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of watermelon, blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, pear, pineapple, lemon, toasted biscuit, light caramel, floral/toasted earthiness. Nice robustness and balance of cactus fruit and moderate bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitter/tart balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/grainy mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.9%. Overall this is a nice fruit beer. All around good robustness and balance of cactus fruit and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
