Raspberry Jam pays tribute to the groundbreaking sights and sounds of psychedelic rock. Light and refreshing, with its crisp natural tartness balanced by the addition of raspberries, this Berliner Weisse was initially developed at our brewpub Tallgrass Tap House. When it became a huge hit, we decided it should “go on tour” as part of the Explorer Series. Pucker up and rock on.

Pour is a hazy golden with a small fizzy white head. Aroma is a nice big raspberry. Not much else there but the raspberry was nice. Flavor is more raspberry with some tartness either from the berries or souring of the beer. The raspberries tasted super fresh. I like this one over the blueberry offering.

Can. A- Artificial raspberry. A- Gold color, clear liquid, white head. T- Raspberry, sour, salty. P- Light body, average texture, medium carbonation, refreshing finish. O- Considering it was well over a year old it was surprisingly still good. Not bad for Tallgrass.

Can. Clear yellow with a white head. Aroma of fresh raspberries. The flavor is lightly sweet yet tart. Fruity raspberry but not too much. Not bad on a hot day.

12oz bottle. Refreshing, solid Berliner. The raspberry isn’t overboard or super artificial, which is nice. Medium bodied. I like this better than a lot of sours out there. OK.

12 ounce can into pint glass, best before 7/15/2017. Pours lightly hazy golden/amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of juicy/lightly tart raspberries, lemon, lime, green apple, cherry, white grape, wheat, cracker, light lacto funk/salt, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/acidic yeast, raspberries, and moderate pale malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big juicy/lightly tart raspberries, lemon, lime, green apple, cherry, white grape, wheat, cracker, light lacto funk/salt, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness and light tangy raspberry notes on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/juicy raspberries, lemon, lime, green apple, cherry, white grape, wheat, cracker, light lacto funk/salt, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, raspberries, and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/tartness balance, and zero puckering flavors after the finish. Light dryness from acidity/tartness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately grainy/acidic, and fairly crisp balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.3%. Overall this is a very nice fruited Berliner weisse. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, raspberries, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the mellow tartness/acidity. Really well balanced all around. Not super jammy, but has a nice showcase of the fruit with classic base style flavors. A very enjoyable offering.

On tap at Bar La Grass. Pours a hazy gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of sweet raspberry with a hint of tartness and sweet wheat supporting. Flavor is similar with sweet raspberry, a tart bite and a hint of sweet wheat backing.

Keg at Mongoose Vs Cobra, Houston. It pours clear gold with a thick, foamy white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, sugary, pink lemonade and candy. The taste is dry, lightly tart, sugary, raspberry, candy, sugary, candied fruits and straw with a dry finish. Light - medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. A but sweet and one-dimensional for the style. OK overall.
